Department: Mail Documentation


Job Description Summary    Driver Primary duty is driving truck, delivering mail to and bringing equipment from post office. When not driving will have same responsibilities as material handler.


Reporting relationships:       Reports to the Mail Documentation Supervisor.






                        Required:       High school diploma or equivalent






                        Required:       driver license


                        Preferred:      Class D or C driver license




Required:       six months driving/deliver experience


Preferred:      one year driving/delivery experience


Skills, knowledge and abilities:        Ability to read and understand drop schedule, good communication skills

 Body positions:          Standing on concrete floors; squatting and stooping in the movement of lifting and loading mail containers, pallets, etc. Sitting in truck.

Body movements:      Walking, bending, reaching in order to collect mail from production floor & place into or on mail container. Pushing or pulling of mail containers to stage mail in proper areas. Must be able to lift at lease 70 pounds.

 Body senses:               Use of vision, hearing and touching in performance of duties.


Mathematics:             Basic math abilities adding, subtracting,                                                                 multiplying, and dividing.

 Language:                  Ability to givereceive verbal instructions-direction                                                   to-from supervisors, co-workers, employees and postal clerk.


Reasoning:                 Dealing with supervisors, co-workers, employees to accomplish company production goals.


Working conditions:             Production environment, dusty conditions in the movement and production of paper products; exposure to all weather conditions with receiving door open.
